Concierge OB/GYN

Dr. Pinkus is an experienced Obstetrician/Gynecologist, who has been helping women of all ages for over 20 years. She believes that empowering her patients to take charge of their global health and wellness has the most enduring impact on their well being. Whether she is guiding patients through their first pregnancy, or their transition through menopause, or an adolescent through their first period, Dr. Pinkus takes the time to really listen to her patients and treat the root cause. Her thoughtful application of medical interventions, nutrition, exercize, and healthy living strategies keeps many generations of patients coming back to her for her care. 

As an immigrant from the former Soviet Union, Dr.Pinkus values diversity in her patient population, and appreciates how patients' different cultures can affect the style of care that they wish to receive. She speaks Russian and Spanish, and always takes the time to understand her patients' concerns. 

Dr. Pinkus completed her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences at the top of her class at UCI, followed by medical school at Albany Medical College, and residency at Kaiser Sunset Hospital in Los Angeles.  

In her free time, she loves going on adventures with her husband and two kids, hiking near and far, cooking delicious meals, and attending live music concerts with her husband's band. 

Nurse Practitioner

Rachel Ballantyne joined Dr. Pinkus in 2023, after being a patient at Newport Center Women’s health from a young adult to becoming a mom.

Prior to joining, she worked as a registered nurse in a Sub-ICU at Keck Hospital of USC for many years. She then worked as a Nurse Practitioner in a primary care/walk in clinic setting before having her first baby a few months before joining our team.

Her education includes a Bachelor’s of Science in Nutrition from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. She then completed an accelerated Bachelor’s in Nursing program at Concordia University, followed by a Family Nurse Practitioner program with a Master’s in Nursing from Cal State Dominguez Hills. During her NP program, she completed her women’s health rotation with Dr. Gigi Kroll, which solidified her passion to provide healthcare for women across the life span. Her background in family practice and acute care brings added knowledge to see the ‘big picture’ during a visit.

In her spare time, Rachel enjoys time with her family by going to the beach, running or walking through CDM, or prepping her latest concoction in the kitchen for her toddler to enjoy.
